BGB Teammates Qualify Securely For
Saturday’s Watkins Glen Grand Prix

For Immediate Release

(Watkins Glen, NY- July 6, 2008) BGB Motorsports drivers Jon Miller and Tim Traver qualified 12th and 13th respectively, for tomorrow’s Watkins Glen Koni Challenge Grand Prix.  The event will precede the Indy Racing League’s Camping World Grand Prix at the Glen.  The two BGB teammates and their green and orange Porsche 997s have locked out the 6th row in an attempt to work together to move up through the field.  Following a strong Professional road racing debut at Mid Ohio, Dan Gardener returns in the only Scion tC in the field.  Gardener continues to sort out the new vehicle as he starts from the 19th row before handing off to teammate and newcomer John Weisberg.  The entire BGB Motorsports driver roster is looking forward to Saturday’s 2.5 hour race, with some unfinished business to sort out among a crowded 70 car field.

Team Manger John Tecce had more to add:

“I’m confident about the hand that we have for this weekend.  Both Jon Miller and Tim qualified well, just shy of the top 10.  Dan and the Scion are still getting used to the Glen, having never been here.  I think that this one will come to us if we’re smart about it and I think that they boys will only get faster as they settle in during their stints.”

BGB Porsches hovered near the top of the time sheets in both practice sessions for this year’s Watkins Glen event.  During Thursday’s wet 2 hour practice session, Jon Miller put his #38 PerformanceDrink.com/Weeden Consultants Porsche in the top spot before coming to pit road for a paused practice session.  Feeling comfortable in the car, Miller chose to end the session early.  As track conditions dried, lap times fell and BGB had to settle with a 7th place spot.  David Murry picked up the slack on the other end however putting his #38 BGB Motorsports Porsche 997 in the 3rd spot for Friday’s dry practice session.

During tomorrow’s race, both teammates will have the luxury of handing their Stuttgart entries to two very experienced Porsche veterans.  Longtime friends, teammates and competitors, Craig Stanton and David Murry certainly have what it takes to keep BGB at the front and they’re looking forward to what has the potential to be a serious battle among some fierce Mustangs and BMWs.

Live timing and scoring information for the race is available on the Grand-Am Koni Challenge homepage at http://www.grand-am.com/livetiming/.  The green flag for Saturday’s 2.5 hour Koni Challenge race drops at 4:40pm.

BGB Motorsports is an ambitious, professional motorsports business.  The team’s facility is located less than 15 miles from Daytona International Speedway and the headquarters for the Grand American Road Racing Association. Entering their 5th season of Grand Am Koni Challenge competition, the team is looking to improve on last year’s 3rd place finish in the Team and Driver’s Championship.  BGB operates as a customer oriented business, running cars under the Grand American Road Racing, Sports Car Club of America and Porsche Club of America sanctioning bodies.  This season will be the team’s sophomore year with Porsche’s latest 911 chassis, the 997 Carrera..
