BGB Motorsports Looking for
the West Coast Mojos

For Immediate Release

(DAYTONA BEACH, FL - May 16, 2007) The BGB Porsches have always seemed to fair well on the west coast during the Grand-Am weekends. During 2005 BGB’s 996 was the highest qualifying Porsche at Laguna Seca; during 2006 the BGB Porsches qualified at Laguna and Phoenix on the front row and no further back than the 3rd row. Maybe it’s the west coast mojo or maybe it’s the fact that at least half of the team either calls California home or has at one point in their life. The team will look to continue this strong trend as they prepare for round 4 of the 2007 Grand-Am Koni Challenge Series.

Last month’s inaugural Grand-Am race at Iowa Speedway didn’t go as well as the team had hoped with the #38 BGB 997 being knocked off track twice and the #83 BGB 997 of Mikel Miller and Tim Traver retiring early due to contact with another competitor. The team intends to put this event behind them and put the wood to the floor as the 2007 season is clocking along at race pace.

The BGB team and Craig Stanton will be joined by last year’s Laguna race winner, Steven Bernheim. Taking a year off from his first full effort in the Grand-Am series, Steve is anxious to get back in the car and he looks forward to driving with Craig. Team manager John Tecce had more to add:

“I’m looking forward to Laguna. We had a pretty successful test between Iowa and here and we’re pretty stoked. Steve won here last year with his team and Craig will do as always does. Mikel Miller calls this track his office while working with Skip Barber here full time as an instructor and Traver recently secured the Skip Barber lap record here last month. If we can stay clean, nail the strategy and be there at the end, we’ll be on it.”

Qualifying for this weekend’s 400 kilometer Koni Challenge Series race at Laguna Seca is at 10:40am on Saturday morning. The green flag for Sunday’s race falls at 9:05am. Living timing and scoring is available on the web at http://www.grand-am.com. Stay tuned for details.

BGB Motorsports is an ambitious, professional Motorsports business. Last year BGB Motorsports won the 6 hour VIR finale, securing the manufacturers title for Porsche Cars North America. Based in Daytona Beach, Florida, the team operates as a customer-oriented business, running cars under the Grand Am Cup, SCCA and Porsche Club of America sanctioning bodies.
