BGB 6-Hour Win At Virginia Secures
Manufacturers Title For Porsche

(DAYTONA BEACH, FL - October 11, 2006) BGB Motorsports book ended their 2006 season with a dominating performance at the 6 hour Grand-Am Cup finale at Virginia International Raceway. During two of the official practice sessions Mikel Miller and Craig Stanton put their Porsches as high as 2nd on the sheets and no lower than 5th. Unsatisfied with this, Miller and Stanton chose put on a clinic for the rest of the 37 car field during the final hour of the race. When the checkered flag fell, Mikel Miller delivered his first Grand-Am Cup win for both himself and his codriver Tim Traver when he crossed the line a comfortable 26 seconds over the 2nd place BMW M3 of Automatic Racing and some 36 seconds in front of Bill Auberlen in the Turner Motorsports M3. Unfortunately for drivers Mark Plummer, Craig Stanton and Ted Ballou the #38 had to pit under green as early as lap 4 to diagnose what was later found to be a faulty air flow sensor. This stop was disappointing as Craig Stanton was clearly the fastest car on the race track in the final stages of the race, some 2 seconds faster than any other car. With 4 BMWs finishing in the top 6, strong finishes by both BGB Porsches secured the
2006 Grand-Am Cup Manufacturer's Title for Porsche Cars North America.

"I will be eternally grateful to Tim and Mikel for delivering that win for our crew. I don't think many people know how bad they needed this.
Everyone's shoulders are a little lighter and everyone went home with a huge smile and will remember that night for as long as they live. Thanks to our crew and our supporters. It's been a long time coming. To win the hardest race of the year is huge for us going into the off-season."

The weekend was plagued with varying weather and damp and dark conditions.
Saturday's race started dry and ran with the threat of rain until the sky opened up around 8:00pm.

"We knew we had the fastest cars in the wet," added Tecce. "We hoped for rain but not until the end of the race and we wanted it to stay wet at that point. It's a shame. Craig Stanton was flying in the #38. If not for the failed MAF sensor, we would have had 2 cars on the podium. The team did a fantastic job putting that car back together in record time after the incident with the tire wall in qualifying and a win with that car would have sent them to the moon."
