LIME
ROCK IS HOME FOR MANY
AT BGB MOTORSPORTS
EXPECT ALL THREE
PORSCHES TO BE STRONG
For Immediate Release
(LAKEVILLE, CT. (May 22, 2006) -- After back-to-back races
out west, logistical puzzles to get everything and everyone
where they need to be and 2 solid sets of results in 2 difficult
races, BGB Motorsports heads to Lime Rock Park this weekend
for the track's traditional Memorial Day event. This will
be the first visit to lime rock for the Grand-Am Cup Series,
and most are excited to run the historic track for the first
time.
Coming off of a pair of races in which they qualified
2nd and finished 7th, Mark Plummer and Craig Stanton in
the No. 38 Porsche 996 continue to strive for that first
win of the season that could be delivered after the checkered
flag falls on Memorial Day. The No. 83 Simplenet.com Porsche
996 will be shared by Mikel Miller and Stewart Tetreault,
as Tim Traver is forced to miss this round with prior commitments.
Tetreault is a former BGB driver from the days of running
the Z3 Coupes and calls Lime Rock his home track.
The No.
83 car is currently 4th in team points; BGB will look to
this car to continue its string of consistent finishes.
You can expect the No. 83 to be quick during the weekend
as Mikel Miller lists Lime Rock as a place he's been a lot
for his own racing and for work with Skip Barber. Ryan Pilla
and Ted Ballou are beginning to gel together in the No. 84
Rhinestone Roxy /Car Doctor World Porsche; Pilla is especially
excited about coming to Lime Rock, as he has a great deal
of experience at the circuit. This is a race that Ryan has
been waiting for all year as he's owned nearly every track
record he's contested at Lime Rock. BGB will look to Pilla
to help the team set up for what is a new track for them.
Each race the No. 84 Porsche shows up higher and higher in
the finishing order; look for them to have their best finish
of the year at this race.
While BGB is located in Daytona
and regards Daytona International Speedway as their home
track, many BGB team members are from the northeast. Team
Owner John Moore cut his teeth on club events at Lime Rock
and looks forward to this event. The BGB paddock will be
filled with local supporters as the Memorial Day Lime Rock
races are something that he's attended before, just not
with his squad of heavily armed Porsche 996s that are ready
to do battle. Lime Rock is a 1.54-mile road course, located
in the hills of Connecticut, which is known for being a
classic drivers track. Drivers that handle traffic well will
be rewarded there, as currently 47 cars are entered in the
Grand Am Cup GS class, which will be racing on Monday, May
29th
at 10:05 am.
