Traver
and Miller Return to
BGB Motorsports for 2006
CALIFORNIA DUO DEBUT
THE
SIMPLENET.COM PORSCHE 996
For Immediate Release
(Daytona Beach, FL-January 3, 2006) BGB Motorsports announced
today that Tim Traver of Del Mar, CA and Mikel Miller of
Monterey, CA will return in the #83 entry for 2006. The two
however will debut a newly dressed Porsche 996 carrying the
SimpleNet.com flag
Traver and Miller joined for 2 races under
the BGB canopy during 2005 at Mid Ohio and Phoenix. Prior
to this they had been running a 3.4 liter Porsche but they
fell in love with the newly acquired 3.6 liter BGB 996.
After Phoenix they knew they had to come back for more.
Both
Mikel Miller and Tim Traver come to sports cars and Grand
Am Cup from the land of open wheels. The two met over 5 years
ago while Miller was instructing at Skip Barber. They became
friends and then adversaries as they competed against each
other in various Skip Barber series races. Miller then went
on to compete in Toyota Atlantic as Traver continued to develop
his craft. Lately Traver has been a contender for championships
in the Western Region for the Barber Dodge Regional Series
though. They both enjoyed their inaugural season in Grand
Am Cup and they’ve adapted to the Porsche
quite well. They enjoy the endurance format and the level
of competition that Grand Am Cup has to offer.
The two will
be well looked after as they have both the support of BGB
Motorsports and SimpleNet.com. BGB team director John Tecce
had more to add: “I am excited about the
#83 car. Tim and Mikel are great guys and will be competitive.
I know that Mikel is itching to get back in the car and take
some time off of work with his BurgerLifestyle.com venture.
I’m also pleased that we were finally able to put a
partnership together with SimpleNet.com. That relationship
would not have been made possible without the introduction
from Tim. I know that everyone will be content.”
BGB Motorsports will be preparing for the 2006 season at
the Rolex Daytona Test Days in early January, with an eye
towards the opening race of the season, the Daytona Grand
Am Cup 200 on Friday, January 27th.
